Something about the plot...
The play is the story about how Peter Pan and his rival, Captain Hook, and his crew of pirates came to be. The story is set in 1885 under Queen Victoria’s reign in the docks of Portsmouth, England. The story takes place mainly on the two ships; The Neverland and The Wasp. Both ships are set to sail to Rundoon to deliver two very important crates to the Queen. The contents of what lies in the crates are a mystery and it is up to Lord Aster, played by Asher Armstrong to deliver the goods safely.
Aster is aboard the Wasp, a slow and dangerous vessel in comparison to the Neverland. Unknown to Lord Aster, the Wasp has been overtaken by pirates below the deck, ready to attack and steal the mysterious goods hidden in the royal crates. Aster sent his daughter, Molly, played by Katherine Schulte, with her nanny, Mrs. Bumbrake, played by Brooke Bigelow to sail on the Neverland as a safer alternative to the rough crew aboard the Wasp.
Shortly after entering the Neverland, Molly sets eyes on an orphan boy with no name, played by David Trobisch, and suddenly the spark was lit between the two 13 year-olds.
Across the ship, Mrs. Bumbrake is swept up in a romance of her own with one of the sailors, Alf played by Guillermo Rendon.
While Mrs. Bumbrake is caught off guard, Molly decides to follow Alf to go visit the ‘pigs’ below deck as he feeds them. As Molly climbed below deck, she realized they weren’t pigs, but three orphan boys named Ted, played by Madecynn Penn, Prentiss, played by Steven Scruggs, and the boy with no name played by David Trobisch.
Alf throws them a bucket of worms and Ted, played by Penn hungrily wolfs down a few handfuls before realizing what he has consumed. Molly agrees to find the boys some real food if she is appointed their leader. Prentiss, played by Scruggs protests, but his hunger gets the best of them and he caves in. The boy stays below deck as Molly, Ted, and Prentiss look for food.
While they are gone, the boy is carried away in a nightmare of his time in Norbert’s Orphanage for Lost Boys, where Grumpkin, played by Tyler Padgett is giving him a lashing and scolding him.
Back on the Wasp, Lord Aster is taken into the captain’s quarters to reveal that Captain Scott, played by Cody Buchholtz tied up. Smee, played by Jaydyn Steaffens discloses that the entire crew is bound below deck and the ship has been overtaken by pirate captain, Black Stache, played by Cassidy Leclair and his crew.
Black Stache makes a dramatic entrance and demands the key to the Queen’s trunk. Lord Aster refuses, but Black Stache steals the key from his pocket. Just then, the amulet around Aster’s neck begins to glow. Molly’s matching amulet begins to glow too, signifying danger.
On the Neverland, the boys question Molly to why her necklace is glowing, and she reveals that her father is on a top secret mission for the Queen.
Mrs. Bumbrake begins to search for the missing Molly, so the four children try to escape the nanny. As they are running away, they run past Slank’s cabin, played by Cade England.
In the cabin is a flying cat. Molly realizes that the only thing that could make a cat fly is starstuff. She realizes that the crate is on the wrong ship. Molly quickly diverts the boys attention with a bedtime story to put them to sleep.
On the Wasp, Black stache opens the trunk to reveal, what the crew thinks is sand. Thinking the treasure must be on the Neverland in the other crate, Stache demands that the ship is turned back to pursue the Neverland.
Aster contacts Molly through his amulet to tell her that the Wasp has been overtaken by Pirates and she must bring him the trunk as soon as the ships make contact- Molly is now a starcatcher!
During Molly’s conversation with her father, the boy woke up from his sleep and heard some of his commands. Molly explains stardust and starcatchers and how only a handful of people like her and her father are trusted to destroy it in the world’s hottest volcano; Mount Jalapeno on Rundoon. Molly explains that the three boys aren’t going to help the King, but to be fed to his alligator.
Just then, Slank enters and throws the boy overboard, but he cannot swim. Being (almost) the top swimmer of her grade, Molly dives in to save him.
The ships slowly start toward each other.
As the vessels meet, the pirates pour over the ship and attack the crew of the Neverland while Black Stache searches for the ‘real treasure’.
While Black Stache and Slank are fighting, Molly and the boy rush to SLank’s cabin to try to get the trunk to Aster. Once they get the trunk, Aster demands it, but they must get off the ship and boy cannot swim, so Molly pushes the boy off the ship with the trunk knowing they will float to the nearest island. Everyone swims to the island.
